Standards & approvals

  • Official approval

Daimler Truck low-SAPS truck diesel engine oil, latest level (formerly MB 228.71)

Daimler Truck's most recent low-SAPS diesel engine oil requirement; the same as MB-Approval 228.71.

  • Mercedes-Benz low-SAPS truck diesel engine oil, latest level

Most recent low-SAPS Mercedes-Benz truck diesel engine oil level, above 228.61. Daimler Truck equivalent: DTFR 15C140.

  • Daimler Truck DTFR 15C110 (formerly MB 228.51) — low-SAPS engine oil, Euro VI

A low-SAPS oil for high-performance diesel engines with aftertreatment, with severe piston cleanliness and wear requirements; the usual Euro VI level; the same requirement as MB 228.51.

Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Urania Elite Eco 0W-20 is a fully synthetic heavy-duty engine oil with stretched fuel-economy and extended service-interval capabilities. Formulated with StrongTech™ technology, it forms a uniquely strong fluid film that protects the engine, retains performance and keeps trucks running and available for longer, helping to reduce total cost of ownership. It is a low-SAPS oil suitable for Euro VI heavy-duty diesel applications, including modern high-output, low-emission engines fitted with DPF, SCR, DOC and EGR emission-control systems. Exceptional thermal and oxidation stability at high temperature keeps viscosity stable and prevents deposits and sludge, extending both drain intervals and engine life. The low-viscosity formulation delivers outstanding fuel economy, up to 1.2% improvement versus a conventional 5W-30 meeting DTFR 15C110, and improves lubrication at start-up thanks to its exceptional low-temperature viscosity, while the low-ash additive system protects DPF and DOC after-treatment systems. PETRONAS Urania Elite Eco 0W-20 is approved to Daimler Truck Fluid Release DTFR 15C140 and is fully backward compatible with vehicles recommending the previous MB 228.71 specification.

Applications

  • Euro VI heavy-duty diesel engines, fitted with DPF, SCR, DOC and EGR emission after-treatment systems.
  • Vehicles recommending the Daimler MB 228.71 specification, approved Daimler Truck Fluid Release (DTFR 15C140).

Performance & benefits

  • Contributes significantly to reducing operating costs, through extended drain intervals and engine life.
  • Exceptional thermal and oxidation stability at high temperature, providing viscosity stability and preventing deposit and sludge formation, even under severe conditions.
  • Outstanding fuel economy, up to a 1.2% improvement versus a conventional 5W-30 meeting DTFR 15C110.
  • Outstanding protection for emission after-treatment systems such as DPF and DOC, from a low-ash additive system.
  • Effectively combats high soot build-up, critical to prevent loss of vehicle horsepower.
  • Improved lubrication at start-up, thanks to its exceptional low-temperature viscosity.
  • Optimal viscosity levels and lubrication throughout the service life, to prevent unplanned breakdowns.
  • Better fluid film resistance under severe mechanical stress, for enhanced engine durability.
