Manufacturer's description

Mobil SHC 832 Ultra is the ISO VG 32 grade of the Mobil SHC 800 Ultra Series, superior high-performance synthetic turbine oils designed for steam turbines, gas turbines, combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) and turbo compressor applications operating under the most severe conditions. The series is specifically formulated to withstand the thermal stresses of modern high-output stationary gas turbines, providing exceptional resistance to thermal/oxidative degradation and outstanding keep-clean performance with targeted deposit and varnish control, helping to prevent bearing deposits, filter plugging, servo-valve deposits and valve sticking. The oil also delivers the exceptional interfacial properties, including strong steam and water separation, required by modern high-performance steam turbines, together with strong anti-wear protection (FZG fail load stage 10) that meets the load-carrying demands of geared turbines. Together these properties extend equipment protection, improve operating reliability and reduce unscheduled downtime, while extending oil life and lowering lubricant costs. Mobil SHC 832 Ultra holds approvals from MAN Energy Solutions (Oberhausen, 10000494596 Rev. 02) and Siemens (TLV 9013 04 and 05). It is recommended for applications requiring GE Power GEK 28143B, and meets or exceeds ASTM D4304 (Types I, II and III), Baker Hughes Nuovo Pignone ITN 52220.05, China GB 11120-2011, DIN 51515-1/-2, GE Power (former Alstom Power) HTGD 90117, JIS K-2213 Type 2, Solar Turbines ES 9-224 Class II, GE Power GEK 101941A, 107395A, 121608 and 32568Q, and Siemens Industrial Turbo Machinery MAT 812101, 812106 and 812108. Typical viscosity: 33.9 mm²/s at 40°C and 6.4 mm²/s at 100°C, viscosity index 140, flash point 266°C, pour point -42°C.

Applications

  • Superior high-performance turbine oils designed for steam turbines, gas turbines, combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) and turbo-compressor applications under the most severe operating conditions.
  • Formulated to withstand the thermal stressing seen in modern stationary gas turbines running at high power output, which can otherwise cause bearing deposits, filter plugging, servo-valve deposits, valve sticking or short oil life.
  • Provide the interfacial properties — in particular steam and water separation — required by modern high-performance steam turbines.
  • Strong anti-wear performance designed to meet the load-carrying requirements of geared turbines.

Performance & benefits

  • Excellent equipment protection and reliable operation, with reduced downtime and extended oil life.
  • Provide the ultimate flexibility to the operator due to extensive use across a wide variety of turbine types.
  • Excellent water and steam separation supports efficient system operation and reduced maintenance.
  • Meets or exceeds key builder requirements for both gas and steam turbines.
  • Helps avoid lubricant misapplication and costly change-out.
