Manufacturer's description

Mobil DTE 732 is the ISO VG 32 grade of the Mobil DTE 700 Series, zinc-free turbine lubricants specifically designed for gas and steam turbine applications. Formulated with carefully selected base stocks and additives, including antioxidants, rust and corrosion inhibitors, and anti-foam agents, it delivers outstanding resistance to oxidation and chemical degradation over time. The oil exhibits excellent water separability, resistance to emulsion formation, and anti-foaming characteristics for reliable operation, plus enhanced air release properties critical to turbine hydraulic control mechanisms (air release time 2 min at 50°C). These performance features translate into excellent equipment protection, increased turbine operating reliability, reduced downtime and extended oil-charge life. Typical applications include base-load electric power generation, gas turbine combined-cycle power plants, captive power plants, gas or steam turbine prime movers, and hydroelectric turbine systems. Mobil DTE 732 has the following approvals: GE Power (former Alstom Power) HTGD 90117 and Siemens TLV 9013 04 and 05. It is recommended for applications requiring GE Power GEK 28143A, and meets or exceeds GE Power GEK 120498, 121608, 27070, 32568Q and 46506D, Siemens Industrial Turbo Machinery MAT 812101 and Siemens Westinghouse PD-55125Z3, DIN 51515-1 and DIN 51515-2, ISO 8068 L-TGA and L-TSA, ASTM D4304 Type I and Type III, China GB 11120-2011 L-TGA and L-TSA (Class A and B) and JIS K-2213 Type 2. Typical viscosity: 30 mm²/s at 40°C and 5.5 mm²/s at 100°C, viscosity index 117, flash point 228°C.

Applications

  • Designed to meet or exceed the requirements of circulation systems of steam and gas turbines.
  • Electric power generation for high-output base-load utilities.
  • Gas Turbine Combined Cycle Power Plants operating in base-load or peak generation modes.
  • Gas turbines in captive power plants.
  • Gas or steam turbine prime movers.
  • Hydroelectric turbine applications.

Performance & benefits

  • Meets or exceeds most major turbine equipment builder and industry specifications — simplifies lubricant selection and application, assures compliance with equipment builder's warranty, minimises lubricant inventory, and is designed to provide extended oil charge life, helping reduce oil purchases and disposal costs.
  • Superior oxidation, chemical and colour stability — helps control deposit formation to reduce filter plugging and equipment fouling, lowering downtime and maintenance costs, for a high level of turbine system reliability and reduced unscheduled downtime.
  • Excellent water separability — helps ensure a good lubrication film to protect turbine bearings and maximises water-removal-system efficiency, minimising oil replacement costs.
  • Enhanced rust and corrosion protection — prevents corrosion of critical oil system components, reducing maintenance and prolonging component life.
  • Rapid air release and resistance to foaming — prevents erratic operation and pump cavitation, reducing pump replacement and increasing pump efficiency.
  • Zinc free — reduces environmental impact.
