Premium multi-purpose EP grease based on mineral oil and lithium hydroxystearate soap, for plain and rolling bearings in industry and transport. The NLGI 1 grade (cone penetration 310-340 at 25 °C) is recommended for heavily loaded bearings lubricated by centralised systems, for gears running at normal ambient temperature where an EP grease is advised, and for low-temperature applications. Base oil viscosity is 220 cSt at 40 °C; the dropping point is 180 °C and the four-ball weld load is at least 315 kg.

Applications

• Shell Gadus S2 V220 1 greases are designed for: heavily loaded bearings lubricated by centralised lubrication equipment.
• Gears operating at normal ambient temperature, for which the use of an extreme-pressure grease is recommended for lubrication.
• Plain and rolling element bearings subjected to severe operating conditions, including shock loading and wet environments.
