Standards & approvals

  • Grease classification L-XBDHB 1 — ISO 12924

ISO 12924 grease code: X = grease, the following letters = lowest and highest service temperature, water resistance and EP performance, the final figure = NLGI grade.

  • Lubricating grease KP1N-20 — DIN 51825

    Grease class DIN 51825: K = bearings, P = EP additives, 1 = NLGI grade, N = maximum temperature, -20 = minimum temperature.

Manufacturer's description

Eni Grease AC 1 is an aluminium complex grease with EP additives and antioxidants, designed and manufactured specially for the needs of the steel industry, where it is used to lubricate bearings at high temperatures — the roller ways of slabbing mills, of continuous casting furnaces and the like — and wherever a grease has to be pumped through particularly long and complex centralised supply circuits. Eni Grease AC 1 is also suitable for the centralised lubrication circuits of hot-press guides. Its EP and anti-wear additives allow the formation of a lubricating film able to resist the mechanical stress that arises in heavily loaded parts with sliding contact, as confirmed by the Timken test, where it reaches 45 lb.

Applications

  • Aluminium complex grease with EP and antioxidant additives, specially designed and manufactured to meet the needs of the steel industry.
  • Used for lubricating bearings at high temperatures (roller tables of slabbing mills, continuous-casting furnaces, etc.), where a grease that can be pumped through particularly long and complex centralized supply circuits is required.
  • Also suitable for centralized lubrication circuits of hot-press guides.
  • The EP and anti-wear additives form a lubricating film able to withstand the mechanical stress occurring in heavily loaded, sliding mechanical parts, confirmed by a Timken OK Load of 45 lbs.

Performance & benefits

  • Very high dropping point.
  • Excellent resistance to water washout; can be used in humid environments and in contact with water.
  • Good antioxidant power, limiting the tendency of the grease to degrade during use.
  • Remarkable anti-rust power, and not aggressive towards yellow metals.
  • Good adhesion to the surfaces it is applied to, effectively resisting vibration.
