Standards & approvals

  • Grease classification L-XBCHB 1 — ISO 12924

ISO 12924 grease code: X = grease, the following letters = lowest and highest service temperature, water resistance and EP performance, the final figure = NLGI grade.

  • Open-gear grease, class CKG 1 — ISO 6743-6

Class CKG of ISO 6743-6: semi-fluid to soft grease for open or slow-running gears, NLGI 1 consistency.

  • Semi-fluid gear grease GP1K-20 — DIN 51826

    Grease class DIN 51826: G = gears, P = EP additives, 1 = NLGI grade, K = maximum temperature, -20 = minimum temperature.

  • Lubricating grease KP1K-20 — DIN 51825

    Grease class DIN 51825: K = bearings, P = EP additives, 1 = NLGI grade, K = maximum temperature, -20 = minimum temperature.

Manufacturer's description

Eni Grease MU EP 1 is a high performance yellow-brown lithium grease, homogeneous and salve-like. Its EP additives form a lubricating layer that resists heavy mechanical stress and shock loads. It is recommended for lubricating rolling bearings and other machine parts subject to high temperatures and mechanical loads: enclosed gears, geared motors, centralised lubrication systems on vehicles and agricultural machinery, couplings and the like, wherever lubricating conditions are difficult. Eni Grease MU EP 1 is recommended across many sectors: metallurgy, mining, construction, paper and glass.

Applications

  • Used across a wide range of applications in the iron and steel, mining, construction, paper and glass industries.
  • Indicated for lubricating flat and rolling bearings, including loaded ones and those operating at high temperature; gears in crankcases and gearmotors; centralized lubrication systems for vehicles and agricultural machinery; and couplings with particularly difficult start-up lubrication conditions.

Performance & benefits

  • High dropping point, allowing use across a wide temperature range
  • Good water-repellent characteristics, suitable for damp environments and the presence of water
  • High anti-rust protection
  • Good adhesiveness to metal surfaces
  • Good vibration resistance
  • High oxidation resistance
