Mobilux EP 1 is the NLGI 1 grade of the Mobilux EP Series, a high-performance family of general-purpose industrial greases based on lithium hydroxystearate. Formulated with an ISO VG 150 base oil, it provides extra protection against wear, rusting and water washout, and is recommended for most types of industrial applications, including heavy-duty service where high unit pressures or shock loads occur. It offers excellent rust and corrosion protection and resistance to water washout, and its good low-temperature pumpability makes it suited to centralised lubrication systems and other applications where low-temperature performance is required. Recommended operating temperature range is -20°C to 130°C, with higher temperatures possible if re-lubrication frequency is increased. Typical worked penetration is 325 (0.1 mm, ASTM D217), and a Timken OK load of 40 lb illustrates its load-carrying and extreme-pressure capability. Mobilux EP 1 meets the requirements of DIN 51825 KP1K-20, delivering reduced wear under heavy or shock loading, corrosion protection, and extended bearing life in wet environments.

Applications

• Mobilux EP 0 and EP 1 provide good low temperature pumpability and are suitable for centralised lubrication systems and other applications where low temperature performance is required.
• Mobilux EP 2 is recommended for multipurpose applications in antifriction and plain bearings, bushings and pins under normal operating conditions.
