Business customers only. We sell wholesale, invoiced to registered companies.

Standards & approvals

  • SS 15 54 70 — environmental requirements for greases (Sweden)

Counterpart of SS 15 54 34 for greases: high biodegradability, low aquatic toxicity, no environmentally hazardous classification.

  • USDA BioPreferred program

US federal program for biobased products (including lubricants), with preferred federal purchasing and a certification label.

  • Grease classification L-XCBIB 2 — ISO 12924

ISO 12924 grease code: X = grease, the following letters = lowest and highest service temperature, water resistance and EP performance, the final figure = NLGI grade.

  • Lubricant designation KPE2G-30 — DIN 51502

    DIN 51502 grease code: K = rolling and plain bearings, P = EP additives, E = ester base, 2 = NLGI grade, G = maximum temperature, -30 = minimum temperature.

  • The European Union's voluntary ecolabel for products, including lubricants, with reduced environmental impact across their life cycle.

  • OECD 301B biodegradability above 60 %

OECD test measuring carbon dioxide evolved over 28 days; above 60 % counts as "readily biodegradable".

Manufacturer's description

Advanced Synthetic Biodegradeable Extreme Pressure Grease. A fully synthetic biodegradeable grease for use in applications where environmental acceptability is required. This grease is based upon a lithium hydroxystearate soap thickener and is fortified with extreme pressure, antioxidant, anti-wear and anti-rust additives.

Applications

  • Plain and rolling element bearings and general industrial lubrication.
  • Operation over the temperature range -35 0 C to 100 0 C for bearings operating at 75% of the maximum rated speed (can withstand up to 120 0 C intermittently).

Performance & benefits

  • Good oxidation and mechanical stabilityResists the formation of deposits caused by oxidation at high operating temperatures and maintains consistency, reducing leakage.
  • Good corrosion resistance characteristicsEffective protection in hostile environments.
  • Lower Environmental ImpactRecommended for use in environmentally sensitive areas: An ‘environmentally acceptable lubricant’ as defined by the USA EPA 2013 Vessel General Permit and offers reduced impact of leak or accidental spillage into the environment when used in marine environments compared to conventional mineral oils. Readily biodegradable - biodegraded by over 60% after 28 days in the OECD 301 B carbon dioxide evolution test. Low Ecotoxicity - Classified as ‘not harmful’ to bacteria, algae, freshwater and marine invertebrates, and fish when tested as water- accommodated fractions (WAFs) according to OECD and EPA test guidelines.
  • Meets requirement of United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) 2013 vessel general permit (VGP)
