Manufacturer's description

Mobil Jet Oil CI is a high-performance aircraft-type gas turbine lubricant based on the proven Mobil Jet Oil II formulation, updated with additional additives for improved protection against rust and corrosion in severe operating environments. It is fully qualified against the Corrosion Inhibited (CI) classification of the MIL-PRF-23699 specification, for military and commercial applications requiring this level of performance. The lubricant is recommended for turbo-jet, turbo-fan, turbo-prop and turbo-shaft (helicopter) gas turbine engines in commercial and military service, and is particularly suited to aircraft-type gas turbines used in industrial or marine applications where additional protection against salt-water corrosion is needed. It is compatible with other synthetic gas turbine lubricants meeting MIL-PRF-23699, and with all metals and common seal materials (Viton A, Buna N, silicone) used in gas turbine construction, though mixing with other products is not recommended. Key features include retention of viscosity and film strength across a wide temperature range, chemical stability that reduces evaporation losses, and a low pour point that eases cold-weather start-up. Mobil Jet Oil CI is approved to MIL-PRF-23699-CI and listed on PRI-QPL-AS5780/SPC.

Applications

  • Aircraft gas-turbine engines of the turbojet, turbofan, turboprop and turboshaft (helicopter) types, in commercial and military service.
  • Aircraft-type gas-turbine engines used in industrial or marine applications requiring additional protection against salt-water corrosion.
  • Approved against the Corrosion Inhibited (CI) classification of US Military Specification MIL-PRF-23699, and compatible with other synthetic gas-turbine lubricants meeting MIL-PRF-23699 (mixing with other products is not recommended, as it would reduce performance).
  • Compatible with all metals used in gas-turbine construction, and with F Rubber (Viton A), H Rubber (Buna N) and silicone seal materials.

Performance & benefits

  • Retains viscosity and film strength across a wide temperature range, providing effective lubrication at high operating temperatures.
  • Chemically stable, helping reduce evaporation losses and lower oil consumption.
  • Low pour point eases start-up in low-ambient-temperature conditions.
