Mobilgard HSD 20W-50 CI-4 is an extra high performance, multi-grade engine oil specifically formulated for severe service high-speed diesel engines in marine applications. Its advanced chemistry delivers outstanding performance in both modern, demanding low-emission diesel engines and older engines running on low or high sulphur distillate fuel. It is designed for the most severe service marine applications of modern high-speed diesel engines such as Caterpillar 3500 Series and smaller bore engines, Cummins, Volvo, Daihatsu and Yanmar, as well as older diesel engines on low or high sulphur distillate fuel. It combines high quality base stocks with a superior balanced additive system for exceptional control of oil thickening from soot build-up and high temperatures, plus outstanding resistance to oxidation, corrosion and high-temperature varnish deposits. The manufacturer's datasheet lists this grade as meeting or exceeding API CI-4; the approvals and other recommendations in the series sheet apply to SAE 15W-40 only.
