Shell Spirax S6 AXME 75W-90

Extended-drain synthetic axle oil for Scania and other OEMs

Business customers only. We sell wholesale, invoiced to registered companies.

Standards & approvals

  • SAE J2360 — registered EP axle oil

Standard that took over the MIL-PRF-2105E military specification; unlike API GL-5 it requires product registration and axle rig testing.

  • Volvo 97312 — transmission oil

Volvo number for the oil in one of its own transmissions.

  • MAN 342 Typ S1 — hypoid axle gear oil

MAN 342 class S1: hypoid gear oil for truck axle final drives.

  • MAN 341 Typ GA2 — manual gearbox/axle gear oil

MAN 341 class GA2: gear oil for manual and automated-manual truck gearboxes and axle drives.

Manufacturer's description

Superior-performance GL-5 synthetic axle oil for many premium applications. Shell Spirax S6 AXME 75W-90 is a long-life, fuel-efficient transmission and axle oil designed to deliver the best protection for the latest generation of high-output manual transmissions and axles. The special formulation based on synthetic oils, combined with additive technology unique to Shell, delivers superior driveline lubrication, lower operating temperatures and extended equipment life. Shell Spirax S6 AXME 75W-90 also offers extended oil drain capability, approved by some OEMs for their extended oil drain specifications.

Applications

  • Transmissions and axlesThe oil is intended for heavily loaded axles and non-synchromesh transmissions for which GL-5/MT-1 mineral or synthetic oils are recommended.

Performance & benefits

  • High efficiency and low fuel consumptionFriction properties tailored to the duty cycle result in low power loss and low operating temperature, helping to deliver high mechanical efficiency.
  • Longer oil drain intervalsThe high-performance additives used have excellent resistance to oxidation and to low-temperature operation, providing protection and durability for gears and sealing elements and an extended oil service life.
  • Longer equipment lifeExcellent protection against wear and corrosion helps prevent premature failures. Excellent oxidation resistance also prevents seal damage caused by deposit formation.
  • Reduced lubricant usageExcellent static and dynamic seal compatibility, exceeding OEM requirements, helps minimise seal leaks. The extended drain intervals help maximise oil change intervals, leading to lower overall lubricant consumption over the equipment's service life.
  • Recognised by the leading equipment manufacturersA number of major equipment manufacturers recognise the benefits of Spirax S6 AXME 75W-90 oil.
  • ZF TE-ML 05A, 12L, 12N, 16F, 17B, 19C, 21A
  • Meets the Iveco 18-1805 requirements for a longer drain interval
