Manufacturer's description

Fully synthetic SAE 0W-30 engine oil with Emissions Compatible Technology (ECT) and low SAPS, which helps keep the particulate filter of diesel engines and the catalyst of petrol engines clean. It has a viscosity of 12.1 cSt at 100 °C and 66.99 cSt at 40 °C, a viscosity index of 180 and a pour point of -54 °C. It meets ACEA C3 and API SN, carries the BMW Longlife-04 specification and the Mercedes-Benz MB 229.51 approval. It can replace SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30 grades and gives up to 2.1% additional fuel economy.

Applications

  • The fully synthetic Shell Helix Ultra ECT formulation uses Shell's advanced technology to help the exhaust catalyst on gasoline engines and to protect and keep diesel particulate filters clean of the ash that can block the exhaust system and lead to reduced engine performance.
  • Shell Helix Ultra ECT can be used in modern gasoline engines, diesel engines with particulate filters and gas engines.
  • Shell Helix Ultra ECT 0W-30 is suitable for vehicles currently using SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30 grades, offering enhanced engine protection and fuel economy
  • Applicable to vehicles where an API SN or ACEA C3 oil is required. Specifications, approvals and recommendations

Performance & benefits

  • Shell's advanced Emissions Compatible Technology (ECT), with a reduced SAPS index: protects the emission system by helping the particulate filter stay clean.
  • Shell's newest active-cleansing technology: helps protect high-performance engines, maintaining performance and removing deposits.
  • High-level deposit protection: no other oil keeps the engine as close to factory-clean standards.
  • Formulated with special antioxidants: gives excellent oxidation protection throughout the oil-drain interval.
  • Low viscosity and friction: up to 2.1% additional fuel economy.
  • Exceptional low-temperature performance: easier cold starting, fast flow for quicker engine warm-up.
  • High resistance to mechanical stress: keeps viscosity within limits throughout the oil-drain interval.
  • Low-evaporation formulation: low oil consumption, with a reduced top-up quantity.
