FMVSS 116 — DOT 5.1 brake fluid
The US federal motor vehicle safety standard for glycol-based brake fluid, DOT 5.1 grade (highest boiling point of the glycol-based grades).
Brake fluid Class 5.1 — ISO 4925
Class 5.1 of ISO 4925: a non-silicone glycol-based brake fluid matching the DOT 5.1 level, with a higher boiling point than Class 4.
SAE J1703 — DOT 3 brake fluid
SAE standard for glycol brake fluids at DOT 3 level, defined by dry and wet boiling point.
SAE J1704 — DOT 4 brake fluid
SAE standard for DOT 4 brake fluids, with a higher boiling point than DOT 3, particularly once the fluid has taken up water.

PETRONAS Tutela DOT 5.1 is a fully-synthetic brake fluid designed for high performance braking systems. It meets FMVSS 116 DOT 5.1, ISO 4925 Class 5-1, SAE J1703, SAE J1704 and ENSAYOS INTA - UNE 26-109-88 specifications. Typical properties include a dry boiling point of 276°C and a wet boiling point of 185°C, with passing results on SBR and EPDM rubber compatibility tests, reflecting the high thermal resistance expected of a DOT 5.1 fluid.
