Mobil DTE Oil Light is a premium-performance circulating lubricant from the Mobil DTE Oil Named Series, designed for steam and hydro turbine sets and other systems requiring long lubricant service life. Formulated from highly refined base stocks and an additive system, it delivers extremely high chemical and thermal stability, rapid and complete water separation, and high resistance to emulsification, along with excellent protection against rust and corrosion (including salt water) and good anti-wear properties. Its high viscosity index minimizes film-thickness variation with temperature and power loss during warm-up, while excellent air release avoids pump cavitation and erratic operation. It is the ISO VG 32 grade of the series, widely used in land-based and marine steam and hydro turbine circulation systems, including geared turbines, with splash, bath, ring-oiling or other continuous circulation methods. It is recommended for continuous-service lubrication of plain and rolling bearings, parallel-shaft gearing, moderate-severity hydraulic pumps, and rotary/reciprocating compressors and vacuum pumps handling air, natural gas or inert gases with discharge temperatures up to 150°C. Typical values for this grade: viscosity 31 mm²/s at 40°C and 5.5 mm²/s at 100°C, viscosity index 110, flash point 218°C, pour point -18°C and turbine oil stability (ASTM D943) of 5000 hours. According to the data sheet it is recommended for applications requiring GE Power GEK 27070, GEK 28143A and GEK 46506D, and it meets or exceeds DIN 51515-1:2010-02, GE Power GEK 120498 and JIS K-2213 Type 2.
