Manufacturer's description

Prowaxx 1475 SW is a high-range melting slack wax (SW) in the Prowaxx line of ExxonMobil waxes. It is a translucent crystalline material in the solid state and a yellow, clear liquid when molten, derived from petroleum via a carefully controlled refining process and primarily comprised of a mixture of straight-chain normal paraffin and branched iso-paraffin hydrocarbons. This product is produced and controlled according to the ExxonMobil Product Quality Management System, EN ISO 9000 or equivalent standard. Typical applications, subject to applicable laws and regulations in each jurisdiction, include de-dusting for roofing granules, roads, fertilizer, glass wool and textile treating, wax emulsions, wax blends, and wood and fibre board sizing. Typical properties include a congealing point of 60.0-67.8°C (ASTM D938), kinematic viscosity of 6.8-8.5 mm²/s at 100°C, oil content up to 15.0 wt% (ASTM D721), n-paraffin content of around 25% (ASTM D5442 modified), ASTM colour by auto tristimulus up to 2.0 (ASTM D6045), and a flash point (Cleveland Open Cup, ASTM D92) of at least 232°C.
