Mobilcut is ExxonMobil's trademark for a line of high-performance, water-miscible metalworking fluids, free of chlorinated and formaldehyde-release agents. Mobilcut 260-New readily emulsifies in water to form a stable milky emulsion, designed for a wide range of water qualities — especially harder waters — with good foam resistance for softer waters even in high-pressure systems. Despite containing only a small amount of stabilizers, it is extremely tolerant of dirt and contamination, giving extended coolant life relative to conventional soluble oils while remaining easy to maintain. Boron-free, Mobilcut 260-New offers outstanding, sustainable corrosion protection and very good wetting and detergency properties. Its base oil selection, combined with EP additives and lubricity agents, delivers a high degree of machining performance and very high output quality, particularly for aluminium and its alloys, and it is also suitable for machining steel and copper alloys (note: the emulsion may turn green when machining copper alloys, without staining workpieces). Recommended concentrations range from a minimum of 6% up to 8-12% for difficult applications, with ideal water hardness of 15-25°dH and emulsion stability up to 60°dH.
