Manufacturer's description

Eni PUNICA 5100 SAE 50 is a cylinder lubricant formulated with high quality base oils and latest additive technology, designed for to lubricate and protect the pistons, rings and liners of low speed two-stroke crosshead engines operating with high sulphur fuel

Applications

  • Designed to lubricate and protect the pistons, rings and liners of low-speed two-stroke crosshead engines operating on high-sulphur fuel.

Performance & benefits

  • Additive raw materials selected to prevent ring sticking and minimize carbon-deposit build-up in piston rings, lands and grooves, which could trigger wear
  • Viscometric characteristics ensure suitable lubrication at the piston-ring/cylinder-liner interface, through a uniformly distributed film over the entire liner surface, effectively controlling wear and reducing engine maintenance and related costs
  • Its alkalinity neutralizes acids formed from combustion by-products and minimizes corrosive wear, ensuring the best engine protection
  • Outstanding thermal and oxidative stability maintains performance unchanged under any engine operating condition
  • The right balance between alkalinity (Base Number, BN) and detergency makes it the solution wherever high-sulphur fuel is required
