Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS HYDRAULIC 22 belongs to the PETRONAS Hydraulic Series, a range of high performance anti-wear hydraulic fluids specially developed for a wide variety of mobile and industrial hydraulic equipment operating under normal to heavy duty conditions. It is formulated with high quality selected mineral base oils enhanced with advanced anti-wear, anti-oxidant, anti-rust and anti-foam additives, giving high anti-wear protection, smooth operation of the hydraulic system and up to 3x longer lasting performance compared with the minimum TOST (ASTM D943) requirements of ISO 11158 HM. The fluid is recommended for mobile and industrial hydraulic systems that demand a high quality anti-wear fluid. Conditionally it may also be used in circulation, splash, bath and ring oiling systems feeding lubricant to gears and bearings, subject to confirmation by the PETRONAS Technical Service Team or the OEM manual. Key benefits include low temperature protection at cold start, high wet and dry filterability, high thermal and oxidation stability enabling long oil drain intervals, high rust and corrosion protection, excellent water separability, fast air release and foam stability, and compatibility with most metal alloys, seals and elastomers. This ISO VG 22 grade has a typical viscosity of 22 cSt at 40°C and 4.3 cSt at 100°C, viscosity index 101, flash point 170°C and pour point -36°C, with a TOST life of 3,900 hours. It meets or exceeds DIN 51524 Part II HLP, ISO 11158 HM, ASTM D 6158 HM, Bosch Rexroth RD90220, Parker Denison HF-0/HF-1/HF-2, Eaton 03-401-2010, Fives Cincinnati P-68/P-69/P-70, SAE MS1004, SEB 181 222, US Steel 126/127/136 and GM LS-2.

Applications

  • Various mobile and industrial hydraulic systems operating under normal to heavy-duty conditions.
  • Hydraulic systems demanding high-quality anti-wear fluids.
  • Conditionally, circulation, splash, bath and ring-oiling systems feeding lubricant to gears and bearings (subject to the local Technical Service Team's and the OEM manual's approval).

Performance & benefits

  • Ensures proper protection of equipment components during cold starts, thanks to reliable low-temperature performance.
  • Protects equipment components from excessive wear and provides long equipment life, through high anti-wear protection.
  • Maintains high filter efficiency without causing undue pressure drop, extending filter lifetime, thanks to high wet and dry filterability.
  • Maintains performance under high temperatures and pressure, enabling long oil drain intervals, through high thermal and oxidation stability.
  • Inhibits corrosion in the presence of water, improving equipment life, through high rust and corrosion protection.
  • Protects the hydraulic system from water's degenerative effects and reduces maintenance costs, thanks to high water separability.
  • Ensures smooth operation through fast air release, protecting the system from air's degenerative effects and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Is compatible with most metal alloys, ensuring trouble-free system performance.
  • Is compatible with most seals and elastomers, preventing oil leaks and contamination from seal erosion.
