Manufacturer's description

Eni Alaria 3 is a high performance heat transfer fluid. Made from deeply refined mineral base oils, it is characterised by excellent oxidation stability and resistance to thermal cracking at high operating temperatures. Eni Alaria 3 can be used in any forced-circulation plant, closed or open. In modern closed systems, under controlled conditions, in the absence of air and atmospheric pressure or in systems pressurised with inert gas, the maximum operating temperatures are 300 °C for the bulk oil and 320 °C for the oil film. In open systems the presence of air affects the product's thermal stability, and the maximum bulk oil temperature is 180 °C. If the oil is held above the recommended temperatures it will degrade, with vapour bubbles appearing in the circuit and a drop in both the flash point and the service life of the product.

Applications

  • High-performance product, usable as a heat-transfer fluid for diathermic systems.
  • Made from highly refined base oils, offering excellent oxidative stability and thermal-cracking resistance at the recommended operating temperatures.
  • Can be used in any type of plant, open or closed, under forced circulation.
  • In well-designed modern closed systems, under controlled conditions without air and at atmospheric pressure, or in pressurised inert-gas systems, the following maximum operating temperatures apply: Maximum bulk oil temperature 300°C, maximum oil film temperature 320°C.
  • In open systems, the presence of air affects thermal stability, and the maximum bulk oil temperature is 180°C.
  • Exceeding the recommended temperatures causes degradation, vapour-bubble formation in the circuit, and a reduction in flash point and service life.

Performance & benefits

  • High thermal-exchange properties under forced circulation, ensuring optimal heat transfer.
  • Very high resistance to thermal cracking, helping to control the formation of sludge and deposits.
  • Improves operating efficiency, thanks to high thermo-oxidative stability.
  • Excellent demulsibility, ensuring rapid and effective water separation.
