Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Syntium Hybrid 0W-16 is an advanced synthetic technology lubricant formulated with °CoolTech-H™ technology, developed to offer advanced resistance to the unique thermal challenges hybrid vehicles face. Constant switching between the internal combustion engine and the electric power unit places greater stress on a hybrid car's engine: frequent stopping and starting increases friction and heat generation, leading to higher fuel consumption and emissions, increased wear and risk of engine failure. Syntium Hybrid 0W-16 is a dedicated lubricant for petrol-electric hybrid vehicles, formulated to protect against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) in turbocharged direct-injection petrol engines, and meets the latest API SQ specification. Benefits include ultimate heat-controlling ability to protect the engine and maximise efficiency and power while reducing fuel consumption and emissions, ability to retain fuel-economy performance as the oil ages, maintenance of oil thickness to reduce engine wear, and protection of critical engine parts against catastrophic LSPI-related failures. The product meets API SQ and ILSAC GF-7B specifications.

Applications

  • Constantly switching between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor places greater stress on a hybrid car's engine, and frequent stop-start increases friction between engine parts, generating excess heat.
  • This raises fuel consumption and emissions and increases wear and the risk of engine failure, so hybrid vehicles need a dedicated lubricant with strong wear protection.
  • Dedicated to and suitable for petrol-electric hybrid vehicles.
  • Formulated to protect against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) in turbocharged direct-injection gasoline vehicles and meets the latest API SQ specification.

Performance & benefits

  • Engineered with °CoolTech-H™ technology to protect hybrid engines against wear and corrosion.
  • Ultimate heat-controlling ability, protecting the engine from damaging heat and maximising its efficiency and power output while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
  • Ultimate ability to retain fuel-economy performance even as the oil ages.
  • Ultimate ability to maintain oil thickness and reduce engine wear, preventing performance loss or serious engine failure.
  • Ultimate ability to protect critical engine parts and avoid catastrophic engine failure (LSPI events).
