Oil for rotary air compressors. Shell Corena S2 R is a high-quality oil with good detergent properties, developed for the lubrication of rotary vane and screw compressors. It uses a carefully selected detergent additive system to ensure good protection and performance for air compressors with operating pressures up to 15 bar and air discharge temperatures of 100 °C, with oil drain periods of up to 4,000 hours. This grade is ISO VG 68: kinematic viscosity 68 mm²/s at 40 °C and 8.9 mm²/s at 100 °C, flash point 240 °C, pour point -30 °C.

• Shell Corena S2 R is capable of delivering drain periods of up to 4,000 hours (where manufacturers permit this), even when the compressor operates continuously at air discharge temperatures up to 100 0 C. It is formulated to help: resist the formation of carbon deposits in the vane slots of rotary vane compressors.
• Resists deposit formation on the rotating components of screw compressors.
• Maintains excellent cleanliness of internal component surfaces, particularly in oil/air separators.
• The precise oil maintenance interval will depend on the quality of the intake air, the duty cycle and the ambient conditions. For the hot, humid climates of the Asia-Pacific regions, a reduced oil drain period is recommended (consult the OEM recommendations).
