Mobiltrans HD 50 is an extra high performance, heavy duty transmission and drive-train lubricant from the Mobiltrans HD series (10W, 30, 50 and 60), engineered to meet or exceed the requirements of the rigorous Caterpillar TO-4 specification. The series is uniquely designed to optimise the performance of powershift transmissions, gearboxes and final drives, and provides maximum protection in hydraulic applications even in high-pressure systems. Selected base oils and an advanced additive system deliver the precise performance parameters needed to maximise productivity of construction, quarrying and mining equipment operating in severe conditions, offering a clear performance advantage over mixed-fleet engine oils and older lubricants meeting only Caterpillar TO-2. This SAE 50 grade has a kinematic viscosity of 18 mm²/s at 100 °C and 195 mm²/s at 40 °C, a viscosity index of 100 and a pour point of -15 °C. It is recommended for heavy duty transmissions, gearboxes, final drives and hydraulic systems in off-highway mining, construction, quarrying and agriculture, and for most mobile equipment hydraulic applications. Mobiltrans HD 50 is recommended for applications requiring Komatsu KES 07.868.1 and meets or exceeds Caterpillar TO-4.
