Manufacturer's description

Eni MX 4006, directly via dissolution in suitable base stocks, is recommended to prepare multigrade crankcase engine oils meeting international requirements for automotive, marine and industrial lubricants. To obtain a VII additive, Eni MX 4006 should be dissolved at approximately 9% wt in low viscosity base oil, preferably SN 130. The VII additive is then diluted at 10% wt in SN 150 to yield a SSI of about 25 and a Thickening Power between 10.3-10.9 mm2/s.

Applications

  • Recommended, via dissolution in suitable base stocks, for preparing multigrade crankcase engine oils meeting international requirements for automotive, marine and industrial lubricants.
  • To obtain a VII additive, dissolve at approximately 9% wt in a low-viscosity base oil (preferably SN 130), then dilute the VII additive at 10% wt in SN 150 to yield an SSI of about 25 and a thickening power of 10.3-10.9 mm²/s.
  • Suggested treat levels for mineral formulations with the additive package: 0.45-0.80% wt (SAE 10W-30), 0.95-1.30% wt (10W-40), 0.65-0.95% wt (15W-40), 1.05-1.40% wt (15W-50), 0.10-0.30% wt (20W-40), 0.45-0.80% wt (20W-50).

Performance & benefits

  • Designed to produce a non-dispersant Viscosity Index Improver (VII) with good shear stability
